WEALTH
Water, Energy, Air, Land, Transportation, and Health
Reducing climate risks positively impacts our state’s Water, Energy, Air, Land, Transportation, and Health—and the lives of Kansans. The Kansas WEALTH partnership convenes leading organizations to collaboratively identify opportunities to reduce climate risks and increase community resilience.
Using a systems approach, CEP utilizes a community engagement tool that maps out environmental concerns, health equity impacts, economic considerations, and solutions. Working with communities to map out these issues will serve as foundational to build grassroots power to support statewide climate policy action.
This year, we will use our WEALTH (Water, Energy, Air, Land, Transportation and Health) system map to facilitate dialogues across the state exploring environmental concerns, health equity impacts, economic considerations, and potential solutions. This work will deepen our relationships with urban and rural Kansans. CEP will work with our WEALTH partners to connect with Kansans as we circulate a Climate and Health Declaration that will signal support for climate resilience planning. With the Declaration in hand, we will advocate for a statewide climate and energy plan directed by an independent energy office that will establish a clear vision, guiding principles, realistic objectives and actionable strategies to influence the state’s climate and energy decision making for the next ten years.
