On Monday February 5th, 2024, WEALTH Day will bring together organizations, advocates, and legislators from across Kansas to connect on Water, Energy, Air, Land, Transportation, and Health – WEALTH. The Climate + Energy Project has been hosting a collaborative event around climate issues for over a decade.

Wind Energy: A Wildlife Biologist’s Take
As a wildlife biologist, I think that the impacts of commercial-scale land-based wind farms on wildlife have been significantly reduced, and that guidelines and regulatory measures are in place to reduce these impacts further. I am also convinced that climate change impacts wildlife much more than well-regulated wind farms.

In the face of the climate crisis, both the sun and wind are sources of new blessing. By harvesting solar energy from the sun in solar panels and harnessing the power of the wind with wind turbines, both sun and wind have become tremendous sources of clean and sustainable energy.

The Climate + Energy Project is pleased to announce that its program, Energy Navigators, has been awarded $400,000 in Phase 1 funding to build community-driven pathways to upgrading homes, improving home energy efficiency, reducing energy burden, and improving health of Kansans experiencing energy insecurity.
