CEP Joins 60+ Organizations in Joint Statement
August 4, 2022

Today CEP along with 60+ other climate, building decarbonization, energy, & affordable housing groups have issued a joint statement calling for swift passage of the Inflation Reduction Act set to reduce carbon emissions by roughly 40% by 2030 and provide much needed relief on energy costs for families. The passage of the IRA would secure healthier homes, address inflation, lower energy costs for households & begin to build a more just, equitable world.

Read the full joint statement here.

“We are proud to join the 60+ organizations listed to advocate for the passage of the IRA and bring relief to our communities. CEP uses a systems-based approach to tackle climate challenges impacting the health and economies of communities across Kansas, and the passage of this package–while not fully perfect–does bring us further in the direction of a just energy transition and more equitable future for all.” – Dorothy Barnett, CEP Executive Director

I am also convinced that climate change impacts wildlife much more than well-regulated wind farms.

SUN AND WIND

In the face of the climate crisis, both the sun and wind are sources of new blessing. By harvesting solar energy from the sun in solar panels and harnessing the power of the wind with wind turbines, both sun and wind have become tremendous sources of clean and sustainable energy.
