Utility Scale Solar & Storage Event Announced

Opportunity for Kansans to learn about clean energy technology advancements

Battery storage and utility-scale solar are the focus of an educational webinar hosted by the Kansas Clean Energy Business Council on September 30, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Interested Kansans are encouraged to join the Kansas Clean Energy Business Council and Black and Veatch’s Technology Manager Frank Jakob to discuss the kinds and types of battery storage, reliability needs of the power grid and the storage solutions that can bridge that gap. Additionally, Burns & McDonnell’s Renewable Energy Development Manager Robert Wright will discuss utility scale solar trends, land use requirements and what makes a “good” solar site.

Moderator Bill Roush, Climate + Energy Project board member, will lead the 90-minute forum. “With rapid improvements in battery storage, the feasibility of solar projects for utility-scale development greatly increases. Webinar participants will gain a better understanding of how storage is changing energy generation and what’s next on the horizon for a clean energy future.”

Interested attendees can register on our event page or contact Jessica Lucas for more information at 620-931-7161.
