Thank You Climate + Energy Voter Ambassadors!
November 6, 2020

Thank you for your hard work in getting out the climate + energy vote out in Kansas this election season. Although voter results are not yet in, we can celebrate our cohort of 36 voter ambassadors who reached out to 382 voters!

We have two post-election opportunities for ambassadors:

Sign up to participate in the Kansas Environmental Leadership Program

CEP wants to support your growth as an environmental leader in your community. We have about 20 spots available that cover the tuition for Kansas Leadership Center (KLC) training. The trainings are virtual so there is no transportation cost. The only cost to you would be the optional guidebook! You can learn more about the program from today’s episode of CEP Votes.

Michelle participated in August and had a great experience working with her small cohort. KLC’s framework and the insight from the folks in her group helped her gain a greater perspective of approaching problems and finding solutions.

Sign the Kansas Climate + Health Declaration

A few ambassadors have yet to sign the Kansas Climate + Health Declaration. Make a clear call to Kansas leadership to address climate change as a primary threat to public health. We would love to have all climate + energy voter ambassadors read and sign the declaration.

TAKE ACTION! SAY NO TO EVERGY’S DIRTY RATE HIKES

Kansas’ largest utility monopoly, Evergy, is proposing a rate increase for nearly 1 million Kansas customers. The proposed rate increase would be one of the largest in the company’s history, hiking Kansas Central customers’ bills by more than $170 per year. Kansas City area Metro customers will see an additional $42 per year.
