Last Day to Request an Advance Ballot
October 27, 2020

There are only 7 DAYS before the general election and today, Oct 27th, is the LAST DAY to request an advance ballot. Election experts predict a record 160 million votes may be cast and turnout rates could be higher than in any presidential election since 1908!

Although you can still request an advance ballot, timing is tight for the full turnaround through the mail. If you haven’t applied for an advance ballot, we recommend voting early in-person or on election day.

Vote Early

Early voting is in full swing! If you are registered to vote, you can vote at any early-voting location in your county. Find your voting location at ksballot.org or contact your county election office by giving them a call or send them an email.

Return Your Advance Ballot

If you applied for an advance ballot, fill it out and return it ASAP! Advance ballots must be postmarked on Election Day or earlier for it to count. The U.S. Postal Service and the secretary of state recommend sending your ballot in earlier to ensure it arrives in time to be counted. The Postal Service suggests getting your ballot in the mail by TODAY, Tuesday, Oct. 27. The secretary of state’s office suggests getting it in the mail by Saturday, Oct. 31.

You can also drop your ballot off at an official ballot dropbox; you don’t need a stamp! The official drop-boxes are NOT the blue USPS mailboxes. Take a look at the photo for an example of what one looks like in Sedgwick County; yours may differ in design but will be marked as a ballot drop-box.

Find ballot drop-box locations at ksballot.org or by contacting your county election office.

TAKE ACTION! SAY NO TO EVERGY’S DIRTY RATE HIKES

Kansas’ largest utility monopoly, Evergy, is proposing a rate increase for nearly 1 million Kansas customers. The proposed rate increase would be one of the largest in the company’s history, hiking Kansas Central customers’ bills by more than $170 per year. Kansas City area Metro customers will see an additional $42 per year.
