Tomorrow is National Voter Registration Day! On this civic holiday, CEP is a part of a collective of organizations reaching out to 1,000,000 people nationwide asking them to register to vote and have their voices rightfully heard in this year’s election.
In 2016, 10.1 million environmentalists stayed home on Election Day in an election that was decided by 77,000 votes in three states. Let’s change that together in this upcoming election! If you’re not yet registered or not sure how to go about it, we’re here to help.
If you need help or know someone else who needs help registering to vote, join CEP, the Voter Network, Root the Power, the League of Women Voters of Kansas, and Somos Kansas for an online voter registration drive where we will be offering live voter registration assistance on Zoom tomorrow! Check out our Facebook event for more information.
All are welcome to join the registration drive including:
- First time voters
- Recently turned 18 and can now vote
- Recently became a citizen and can now vote
- Recently moved, married, or changed their name
- People who think they’re registered and want to check their status
As CEP’s Climate + Energy Voters Take Action, we want to empower you to exercise your right to vote and help find answers to your questions. Registering to vote and applying for an advance ballot online, also known as a mail-in ballot or absentee ballot, is quick and easy. You can also request a paper ballot if you prefer that. REGISTER TO VOTE
If you want to vote before November 3rd, you don’t need to have an excuse in Kansas! That’s right, you can beat the crowds at the polling stations and have plenty of time to look over your ballot before dropping it in the mail or off at your polling location. Prefer to vote in person? You can also do that in advance too. Just show up between Oct 14th and Nov 2nd at your polling location with your ID. Find your polling location on ksballot.org. But don’t wait to register today! You need to be registered no matter how you wish to vote.
Let us know how we can help turn out your vote! Reach out to us at takeaction@climateandenergy.org with any questions you have.
