Kansans have long supported clean energy. Despite years of attacks from outside interests to remove the Kansas Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), we now generate more than 40% of our electricity from wind. For the past five years, Kansas residential solar power has been under attack, but people like you have continued to speak out on the importance of clean energy in Kansas. Thank you!
With strong winds and more sunny days than Florida, Kansas has excellent natural resources. Yet, without favorable renewable energy policies, Kansans will continue to rely on expensive, polluting energy sources.
You may think, “we need to vote to change this!” You are correct, but did you know that many people concerned about environmental issues don’t vote? In fact, nearly half of all eligible voters did not vote in the 2016 presidential election.
You can change this. Sign up to be a Climate + Energy Voter Ambassador today!
CEP’s Climate + Energy Voters Take Action is a network of Kansans using relational organizing to increase voter turnout on climate and energy issues.
All are welcome to join us for a short, 45-minute virtual meet and greet this Thursday, Aug 6th at 6pm. Register here and we’ll email you a confirmation.
Onward!
