320 Kansans took action to save net metering!
June 26, 2020

Sending out a big high-five for all the great work in submitting public comments to FERC in opposition to the NERA petition to kill net metering. Three hundred and twenty Kansans filed comments with 57,000 filed nationwide! The comments were overwhelmingly opposed to the petition, with just 3 comments filed by individuals in favor. State governments joined the opposition with 37 states filing opposition to the petition.

Your comments successfully demonstrated overwhelming public and state government opposition to the NERA petition, and a compelling legal case was launched.

While the response was overwhelmingly supportive, we don’t yet have an indication on how FERC will vote. CEP and our partners at Vote Solar are monitoring the situation closely.  We will keep you informed on the FERC decision!

TAKE ACTION! SAY NO TO EVERGY’S DIRTY RATE HIKES

Kansas’ largest utility monopoly, Evergy, is proposing a rate increase for nearly 1 million Kansas customers. The proposed rate increase would be one of the largest in the company’s history, hiking Kansas Central customers’ bills by more than $170 per year. Kansas City area Metro customers will see an additional $42 per year.
