Capitol Insider podcast: Kansas in dire need of state energy plan
January 24, 2020
Energy plan + Zack Pistora

Kansas is undergoing a transformational time in energy and electricity. While we face the battle of a changing climate we’ve witnessed how renewable energy curbs emissions while also providing economic value. The recently released Electricity Rate Study calls for a Statewide Energy Plan and Integrated Resource Plans to determine how to best integrate clean energy in Kansas and take us into the future. The Capitol Insider interviewed Dorothy Barnett, CEP executive director and Zack Pistora, lobbyist for the Kansas Sierra Club.

In the interview you’ll hear what is significant about the recent rate study and how Kansans stand to benefit from it’s recommendations. Dorothy and Zack discuss why Kansas rates are so high and what role both clean energy and energy efficiency play in lowering electricity rates for residents and businesses.
