The Climate + Energy Project empowers our supporters and organizational partners with environmental leadership development. We believe that by building our shared leadership skills, we will make progress on environmental issues that will contribute to a healthier and more resilient Kansas. Since 2016, CEP has sent over 75 staff members and organizational partners to participate in leadership trainings made possible by grants from the Kansas Leadership Center and the Environmental Protection Agency.

This year we are excited to continue supporting Kansas Environmental Leaders with another Leadership Transformation Grant from the Kansas Leadership Center! In 2019, CEP will give another 40 environmental partners the opportunity to attend trainings at the Kansas Leadership Center.

We are conducting an active search for the right people to support for this exciting opportunity.  Does this leadership opportunity have your name on it?

The Kansas Leadership Center roots all of its trainings in a set of Core Competencies based on the following principles:

  • Leadership is an activity, not a position.

  • Anyone can lead, anytime, anywhere.

  • It starts with you and must engage others.

  • Your purpose must be clear.

  • It's risky.

There are two different trainings available depending on your past experience with the Kansas Leadership Center: Your Leadership Edge and Equip to Lead. If interested, participants accepted into the program may have the opportunity to attend both.

If you want to develop your leadership skills, please apply here. Once accepted into CEP’s Kansas Environmental Leadership program, you will be able to register for the KLC training of your choice. Travel and lodging support are not currently available, but we will notify you if scholarship funding becomes available.

Not interested in leadership training personally, but want to help others go? You can help!  The grant covers registration costs and most meals, but it does not cover travel and lodging.  Please consider a donation to help cover these costs.
